SYLVIE BOLIOLI (Writer/Director/Producer also appearing as Junkie)
Sylvie started her career in show business at an early age. She wrote, directed, produced and acted in her first play when she was only nine years old. She then joined Le Jeune Theatre du Soleil with which she toured the South of France performing Greek classics. After gaining an MBA in Management and Marketing, she went on to work in England as a magician’s assistant whilst studying drama at RADA. Sylvie had the chance to work with Sam Mendes, appearing in London Assurance, although Mr Mendes probably won't remember the Servant who was pushing furniture about on the stage in Guildford, UK! She subsequently appeared in a few other British stage shows before working on Mexican and European television.
Sylvie made her directing debuts in advertising, with TV commercials for Mexican television. She had previously written, directed and produced a series of radio commercials for various brands including Pepsi Cola. She added more stage directing to her experience; her last work Breaking the Silence was performed at the Etcetera theatre in London. Her first short film Solo Party, for which she also did the cinematography, was selected at the Tribeca Underground Short Film Festival in New York.
She had a taste for film production when she worked as a Production Assistant on The Yawning Man, a film shot at Pinewood Studios.
Adding another string to her bow, Sylvie recently edited a feature film Jehovah Kill which raised the interest of US distributor Montecristo Entertainment.
Sylvie is now combining her acting career and developing a few feature films with the view to direct amongst which "Pandora's Box", a dark thriller in the film noir genre; "Pandora's Box" written by Gabriel Murray ("Casanova's Letters", "Pretty Boys") and Clive Thompson. "Verdict?", a different take on the death penalty in which more questions are asked than answered.
“Working on an Alfred Hitchcock project was a childhood dream. So when I was looking for potential material for the screenplay of a short film, I remembered GAS, a little gem full of suspense and humour. So I thought that besides giving me the immense pleasure of working with Monsieur Hitchcock, it would give the opportunity to say thank you for giving us some of the greatest movies of all times.”
